VOLUNTEERS

To run an operation such as East Holton Driving Centre is both costly and labour intensive. Without the support of the community and our volunteer helpers we could not provide this wonderful service to our many disabled people. We try to encourage all our disabled drivers to achieve their personal goals.

With every drive out we require 4 escorts on bicycles (or electric buggies) for
a wheelchair user, and 3 escorts for an ambulant person.

If you would like to help this worthwhile cause and can spare a few hours a week, or perhaps be available to help on an occasional basis please contact us.  No knowledge is necessary, as we will train our helpers.

We also offer the opportunity for helpers to learn to drive, teach and encourage our clients; it is important that everyone who helps gets some personal enjoyment from their activities - it must never seem like a 'duty to disabled people'. For some it may be handling horses, or cycling in the fresh air, or learning to drive a horse & carriage, or just social inter-action.

The people you meet while at East Holton Driving Centre are, like you, caring and compassionate individuals with a love of animals and their fellow people. All that we ask is that you possess a pair of sensible boots and a good sense of humour! You don't have to be mad to work with us, but it helps!!

Join us today and start:
     * Making new friends
     * Learning new skills
     * Living a healthier lifestyle
     * Having fun with like-minded people.

Any assistance is appreciated, whether it is assisting with the horses and driving, yard work and equipment maintenance, or liaison and fund raising.
